Investigative journalist and broadcaster Roger Cook dies aged 83

In a career spanning five decades, journalist was best known for ITV current affairs programme The Cook Report The investigative journalist Roger Cook, best known for the current affairs programme The Cook Report, has died aged 83, his family has said. Cook was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia where he began his broadcasting career before moving to the UK in 1968. His distinctive style of investigative journalism, based on confronting and exposing criminals and conmen, began in the form of the BBC Radio 4 show Checkpoint, which he created in the 1970s.
