The vaccine, which is sprayed into the nose with one spray in each nostril, will be available for children throughout the state via GPs, community pharmacies and Aboriginal medical services. Having needle-free vaccines for children aged two to four, at no cost to parents, is a gamechanging policy. Two-thirds of kids, and about a quarter of adults, have a strong fear of needles. As GPs, we know that’s a big barrier to achieving the immunity our young patients need. Death at any time is horrific, but just the swiftness – one minute everything seems normal then suddenly, sometimes through no fault of that person, they are taken away. Continue reading...
